Hundreds of people in the Southern Tier are learning they’ll be without a job this fall.
Sitel announced impending layoffs for their location in Steuben County Monday.
More than 180 employees at the Erwin Call Center will be out of a job by the end of October.
Company officials say layoffs are a direct result of the company losing a major client.
Since 2010, the company has laid off a few hundred people on two separate occasions.
Most of the positions being cut are customer service representatives.
Layoffs are expected to take effect between October 7 and October 21.
Those looking to stay with the company will be contacted by human resources about the upcoming application process.
